Web design in Knowsley

I am Jake, and I run FORGE from Liverpool. I build websites for businesses across Knowsley, on spec, which means I build the site first and send you the finished thing before you pay anything. It starts at £297, it is live within 7 days, and it sits on your own domain from day one. If you run a trade, a local service or a small business anywhere from Prescot to Kirkby to Huyton and Halewood, this page is for you.

Knowsley is not one town, it is four or five that happen to share a council, and they do not feel the same. What ties them together right now is that the borough is on the way back up, and the businesses that get their name in front of that revival are the ones that will be busy for the next few years.

Prescot has its footfall back, so be findable in it

Prescot changed. Shakespeare North Playhouse brought a reason to come into the town centre that was not there before, and with it came evenings out, people passing through and money moving around the high street again. That is real footfall returning to a place that had gone quiet, and it is not just theatre crowds. It is people who now think of Prescot as somewhere you go, which means they are also searching for what is around it.

If you are a business in or near Prescot, that is the wave to be on. A site that ranks for what you do locally puts you in front of people who are already looking at the town with fresh eyes. The town is telling a comeback story. Your website is how you make sure you are part of it instead of watching from the side.

Kirkby has a town centre worth showing up in

For years Kirkby did not really have a proper town centre, and everyone there knew it. That has changed with the rebuild, and a town centre that actually works pulls people in to shop, eat and use local services rather than driving out of the area to spend their money somewhere else.

That shift matters for anyone trading in Kirkby. When people start doing things locally again, the search follows, and the businesses that come up first are the ones that get the call. I build sites that are set up to be found for Kirkby specifically, not lost in results for the whole of Merseyside. If your customers are increasingly staying in Kirkby, your website should be the first thing they find when they look for what you do.

Huyton and Halewood run on who you know

Huyton and Halewood are not high-street towns in the way Prescot and Kirkby are. They are estate-rooted communities where a lot of trade still moves the old way, through neighbours, family and someone down the road who used you last year. That word of mouth is gold, and I am not going to tell you to replace it.

What I will tell you is where it leaks. Someone gets your name off a mate, then they cannot remember it, or they type it in and find nothing, or they find a Facebook page last posted to in 2022. In a close community that half-second of doubt sends them to the next name they were given. A clean, fast site that comes up when they search you is where the recommendation lands safely. It does not replace word of mouth in Huyton or Halewood, it catches it before it falls through the gap.

One borough, but not one audience

The mistake with somewhere like Knowsley is treating it as a single place and writing one page that vaguely covers all of it. Prescot, Kirkby, Huyton and Halewood are different markets with different people searching in different ways, and a site that names the areas you actually cover will always beat one that just says “Merseyside” and hopes.

When I build for you, we are specific. If you cover Prescot and Whiston but not Kirkby, the site says so. If you work across the whole borough, it makes that clear too, and it does it in a way Google can read and act on. That precision is what gets you found in the right town instead of nowhere in particular. It is also what stops you paying for enquiries from twenty miles away that were never going to turn into a job.

Straight prices, no messing about

Knowsley is a value-conscious borough and I build to suit it. It is £297 to get the site built and live, and that includes the first three months of looking after it. After that it is £49 a month for hosting, backups, small edits and keeping your Google listing up to date. If you want me actively pushing your local ranking every month, that is the £129 plan.

You own the site, it is on your own domain, and there is no lock-in. You see it finished before a penny changes hands, so you are not taking my word for anything. If you want a website that is built for the part of Knowsley you actually work in, message me and I will build it.

Common questions

Questions I get asked.

Do you actually know Knowsley, or are you just swapping the town name in?

I am in Liverpool, so Knowsley is next door, not a name on a map I have never been to. I know Prescot has its footfall back, I know Kirkby has a town centre worth being seen in again, and I know Huyton and Halewood are two very different places that both run on who you know. That local read shapes how I build a site and how I get it found.

I get most of my work off word of mouth in Huyton. Why do I need a website?

Word of mouth still gets you recommended, but the recommendation ends with a name and a phone that does not always get answered. A website is where the person who was told about you goes to check you are real before they call. In a tight community like Huyton that quiet check is often the difference between the job and no job.

There is a lot of new development around Prescot and Kirkby. Can a site help me get in front of that?

Yes, and that is exactly the point. As Prescot pulls people back in around Shakespeare North Playhouse and Kirkby rebuilds its town centre, more people are searching for local trades and services in those areas than were a few years ago. A site built to rank locally puts you in front of that returning traffic instead of watching it go to whoever shows up on Google first.

How much does a website cost?

It is £297 to build, and that includes the first three months of care. After that it is £49 a month for hosting, backups, small edits and keeping your Google listing current. If you want me actively working on your local ranking every month there is a step-up plan at £129. No hidden extras.

How long until it is live?

Seven days from the point I have what I need from you. I build it first, send you the finished site, and it only goes live once you are happy and have paid. You are not waiting weeks or chasing anyone for updates.

Do I own the site, or am I renting it off you?

You own it. It sits on your own domain and it is yours. The monthly fee is for looking after it and keeping you found, not for renting your own website back. If you ever want to walk away, the site goes with you.

I run a business off one of the estates serving other Knowsley firms. Does this work for me too?

It does. A site that clearly says what you do, where you cover and who you work for helps whether your customers are households in Halewood or another business a few units over. The build is the same standard either way, the words just point at who you actually want ringing you.

I tried a website years ago and it did nothing. Why would this be different?

Most of those sites were slow, built on WordPress, and never set up to be found in the first place, so of course they did nothing. Mine are static, fast and built to rank in the actual places you work. And because you see it finished before you pay, you are not gambling £297 on a promise.
