Web design in Sefton
I am Jake, and I run FORGE across Sefton. I build websites for the businesses that keep the commuter suburbs north of Liverpool running, Bootle, Crosby, Litherland, Maghull, Formby and the streets in between, and I build them on spec. That means I make the finished site for your business first, and you see it before you pay anything. It starts at £297, it is live within 7 days, and it sits on your own domain so it belongs to you and nobody can hold it hostage. If you have searched web design Sefton and found agencies quoting four figures for something slow, that is the gap I close.
Built for the trusted local name
Sefton’s suburbs run on reputation. In places like Crosby, Waterloo, Maghull and Formby, plenty of people have lived on the same roads for years, and they hire the plumber, the joiner, the cleaner or the beautician that a neighbour told them about. That word-of-mouth trade is the best kind of trade there is, and it is exactly why your website matters more than you might think. When someone passes your name over the fence, the first thing the person receiving it does is look you up. If there is nothing there, or what comes up is a half-finished Facebook page from three years ago, the recommendation quietly cools. I build the site that catches that lookup and confirms you are the real, established local name they were told to call.
Bootle to Formby, your actual patch
Sefton is not one town, it is a string of them, and the distance from Bootle to Formby is a real one in how people think about who counts as local to them. Someone in Litherland wants a tradesman who works Litherland, not a firm that vaguely covers “the North West” from an office nowhere near them. So I make sure your site says plainly which areas you cover, whether that is Bootle and Seaforth, Crosby and Waterloo, Netherton and Aintree, or all the way up to Maghull and Formby. The person searching in their own suburb should see their own suburb on your page. That is half of local trust in a borough like this, and it is the half most cheap, template sites skip entirely.
When word of mouth becomes a Google search
The modern version of a personal recommendation is a name typed into a phone. Someone hears “get so-and-so, they sorted our drive,” and thirty seconds later they are searching that name, or the service plus their town, from the sofa. Your site needs to be the thing that turns up and closes that moment. That means it loads fast, it shows clearly what you do and where, it puts your number one tap away, and it does not make a careful Sefton homeowner feel like they have wandered somewhere they should not put their card details. In these suburbs the sale is often half-made before anyone searches. The job of the site is to not lose it in the last thirty seconds.
Fast, because the check happens on a phone in the driveway
Half the people looking you up are standing in a driveway or a kitchen holding a phone, deciding whether to message you or the next name on the list. A site that takes five seconds to load loses that person, and you never even find out it happened. I do not build on WordPress, which is what most firms at this price still hand you. I build static sites that sit on a fast global network and open more or less instantly, on any phone, even on the patchy signal you get walking down to the shops in Maghull. Fast is not a nice extra here. It is the difference between a message landing in your inbox and going to whoever loaded quicker.
Tried a website before and got nothing back?
A lot of Sefton business owners have. You paid someone, waited months, chased for every small edit, and ended up with something you were quietly embarrassed to send anyone. That is the exact reason I build on spec. You see the finished site, your name, your areas, your work, before you pay the rest, and if it is not right you do not pay the balance, so the only thing at stake is the £99 to start. Once it is live it is £297 to build with the first three months of care included, then £49 a month for hosting and the small edits you will actually need, and you own it outright the whole time. If you want me actively working to get you found and keep you found, that step-up is £129 a month. Either way there is no lock-in and nothing hidden.
If you run a business anywhere in Sefton and you want a site that backs up the recommendation instead of undermining it, message me on WhatsApp. I will build it, you will see it finished, and only then do you decide.

Common questions
Questions I get asked.
Do you really build the site before I pay?
Yes. I build on spec, which means I make the finished site for your business first and send it to you to look at. If it is not right, you do not pay the balance, and the £99 to start is all that is at stake. You only pay the rest once you have seen it and you want it, which is the opposite of how most web work in Sefton is sold.
Which parts of Sefton do you cover?
All of it. Bootle, Seaforth, Crosby, Waterloo, Litherland, Netherton, Maghull, Aintree, Formby and the streets around them. I am building for the commuter suburbs north of Liverpool, so I know the difference between someone searching in Litherland and someone searching in Formby, and I build your site to name the areas you actually work.
I get most of my work by word of mouth. Do I even need a website?
That word-of-mouth trade is exactly why you need one. When a neighbour passes your name over the fence in Crosby or Maghull, the first thing the other person does is look you up. If there is nothing there, the recommendation cools. Your site is what confirms you are the real local name they were told about.
How much does it cost?
It starts at £297 to build, and that includes the first three months of looking after it. After that it is £49 a month for hosting, backups and small edits when you need them. If you want me actively working on getting you found, that step-up is £129 a month. No hidden extras either way.
How long until it is live?
Seven days. I do not disappear for months and leave you chasing for updates. I build the site, you see it finished, and once you are happy it goes live on your own domain within the week. Fast to build and fast to load are both the point.
Do I own the site, or am I tied in?
You own it outright, on your own domain, from the day it goes live. There is no lock-in and I do not hold your domain hostage. If you ever want to walk away, the site and the domain are yours to take. Ownership is just how this should work, so I treat it as a given rather than a selling point.
My current site is slow. Does that matter?
It matters a lot, because most people looking you up are on a phone in a driveway or a kitchen deciding whether to message you or the next name on the list. I do not build on WordPress. I build static sites that open almost instantly, even on the patchy signal you get walking down to the shops, so you do not lose people who were already half-sold.
Can you make my site show up for my area, not just anywhere?
Yes, and in Sefton that is half the job. Someone in Netherton wants a local name, not a call centre covering the whole North West. I set your site up so it is clear which suburbs you serve and so the person searching in their own area sees their own area on your page. That local match is what earns the click and the trust.
Tell me what you do and I'll build you a site on spec, so you can see it before you pay. See the full pricing, browse the work, or get in touch.
